Η γνωριμία έγινε ένα πρωινό του Μαΐου το 2006 στο check-in του Ελ. Βενιζέλος στη πτήση για Βουδαπέστη. Μεταξύ γκούλας και πόδι πάπιας (ανεφ σαγιονάρας) ζεστάναμε τις μεριές των ενωμένων κρεβατιών μας. Φύγαμε άγνωστοι και επιστρέψαμε ζευγάρι!
Η πορεία μας από τότε ήταν γεμάτη ταξίδια. Μεθύσαμε με Guinness και Budweiser στο Belfast. “Ταϊσαμε” αλογάκια την ημέρα του Αγίου Πατρικίου και φιλήσαμε ένα ψάρι.
Μουρμουρήσαμε στο Hyde Park του London και μαγευτήκαμε από τους υπέροχους ήχους του Covent Garden. Τραβήξαμε φωτογραφίες με τον “έρωτα” George “Martini” Clouney και τον Spiderman στη &*^%$(κια της Madame Tussauds.
Στη Τυνησία χάθηκαν οι ελπίδες του Νίκου να “γλύτώσει” από την Αθηνά, αφου ο Βεδουίνος δεν την “άντεξε” ούτε 5′ λεπτά και στην έρημο Σαχάρα την “επέστρεψε” σώα και αβλαβή!
Μετά είχαμε Μύκονο, Σαντορίνη, Ηράκλειο, Πάτμο και Kusadaci για να διαπιστώσουμε ότι οι δύο πάμε με τρέλλα σε αέρα, βούνο και θάλασσα!
Μετά συγκατοικήσαμε! Test drive για το μέλλον! Ο Νίκος συγκατοίκησε με τη “Μόνικα” και η Αθηνά με τον “Chandler” και ήταν τόσο καλά μαζί (και τόσο όμοιοι με τους χαρακτήρες) που επισκέφθηκαν τη πόλη των Friends. New York baby! 8 ημέρες περπάτησαν και έζησαν τους ρυθμούς της NY, “έπαιξαν” με τους Knicks, περπάτησαν (μόλις 15 μέτρα) στο Harlem για να ακούσουν υπέροχη jazz και να φάνε υπέροχα ribs!
Στη πτήση της επιστροφής, έπεσε και η πρόταση… για 48η φορά!
Η απάντηση ήρθε σε μια άλλη πτήση… 1,5 χρόνο μετά! Στην επιστροφή από τη Πόλη των Αγγέλων και το roadtrip της California (και ολίγον Nevada, Las Vegas).
Πατώντας στο Ελ. Βενιζέλος, στο ίδιο μέρος που όλα ξεκίνησαν, γνωρίζαμε πως δε θα μείνουμε μόνο εκεί. Πλέον “πετάμε” για τη Βολισσό της Χίου. Στις υπέροχες παραλίες της και στις κρύες θαλασσές της. Στο ούζο και στο συρτό της. Στην Αγία Μαρκέλλα…

They met in a sunny morning of May in 2006, at the check in for Budapest in El. Venizelos International Airport of Athens. In Budapest, between the gulaschuppe and duck legs, we… warm up our “connected” single beds. We depart from Athens as strangers and we came back as couple.
Our common live was full of trips. We got drunk with Guinness and Budweiser in Belfast. We “fed” (ie. bet) the horses in St. Patrick’s Day and “kissed” a huge fish.
We chattered in Hyde Park in London and we had been enchanted by the beautiful sounds of Covent Garden. We took pictures with the love… George “Martini” Clooney and Spiderman in the most overrated museum in the World… the Madame Tussauds.
In Tunis, all Nikos’ hopes were faded away, since the horseman Bedouin brought Athina back in Sahara instead of taking her with him. He didn’t last more than 5′ with her!
Then we’ve been in Myconos, Santorini, Heraklio (Crete), Patmos & Kusadaci and we ascertained that we match in every place we go. At sea, air or mountain!
Then we moved together! Test drive for our common future! Nikos met “Monica” and Athina met “Chandler” and we were so good together that we decided to visit Friend’s city! New York baby!!! For 8 days we were walking around the city, feeling the rythm of the city. We watched the Knicks, walked (barely 15m) in Harlem and listen to jazz and RnB and ate delicious ribs.
While being in the flight back to Athens, Nikos proposed … for the 48th time!!!
Athina’s answer came after a year and a half in another flight. While getting back from the city of angels and the California roadtrip (ok we went also in Nevada, Las Vegas).
When we arrived at El. Venizelos International Airport of Athens, the place were all begun, we knew that we won’t stick to that. We’re now “flying” towards Volissos, Chios. In the magnificent beaches with the cold waters. In an area that ouzo is more than an aperitif and syrtos more than a dance… but a way of life! We are flying towards… Agia Markella…
